Good content writing is similar to cooking. The ingredients you add or leave out, will decide whether or not your post pass or fail. Are you missing any of the following content writing secrets?

A perfect title

The main purpose of the post title is to attract user’s attention and get clicks from those who are interested. If you turn dull post titles into captivating headlines you'll easily get more visitors and clicks.

Imagine this…

You create a great post. It's the grand-daddy of all posts.

Then, unfortunately, you attach some lame headline and you hit publish, and send it to search engines and social media platforms.

What Happens?

Nothing! The text-link fails to capture visitor's attention and therefore slips right through the fingers of your audience.

It’s not your post that isn’t best, but it can’t “click this” your writing remains anonymous.

Eye-catching opener

The first sentence has 2 main purposes…

Get them reading.

Keep them reading.

What can we do to make the first sentence so interesting, so simple, and so compiling that our readers continue to read?

Answer: Make that sentence short.

You can start the first sentence with a question, or statement
.
  • Losing weight is easy now
  • Have you read this?
  • Top secret features
  • Does this make sense?

If your first sentence short and easy to read, the reader will be compelled, by their curiosity, to read on.

Make it look easy

divide large paragraphs into short punchy sentences.

Think about it, what's the first thing people do when they land on your web page?
They scan the post title, observe picture, and text, then decide whether or not to dive into the post based on time, interest, and readability.

Lots of white-space helps the post look easy and more inviting to read.

Keep in mind, extra-long paragraphs and big blocks of text deter readers by making the posts look difficult to read and time-consuming.

Writing like you speaking

In Stephen King's “On Writing,” he stated that the best writing mimics the spoken word.

When you write out sentences using words like – you are, you would, they are, it is, do not, cannot, should not, would not, etc.

They sound robotic and make the reader labor through the text. Write content just like you speak it.

Write for two readers

We must write for two.

First, there's the Thinker. This type of reader will consume every word you written. They'll eat every information you put on your posts.

The second reader is known as the Skimmer. They'll scan over the entire post scouring subheadings, bold, or italic type, only stopping when a useful piece of content appears.

Read out loud

When you're done with your first draft, read the entire post out loud and remove any unnecessary and stutters lines.
